About the Role

We are seeking a high-energy Assistant Project Manager (APM) to serve as a vital “force multiplier” for our Project Management team. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who excels at solving problems and keeping projects moving forward amidst complex logistics. You will support multiple Project Managers across various residential sites, managing everything from utility coordination and permit documentation to subcontractor vetting and schedule updates. This is an ideal role for someone looking to grow into a leadership position within the luxury residential construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Project Support: Coordinate, plan, and vet subcontractors while supporting multiple Project Managers across various custom home sites.
  • Utility Coordination: Manage the entire utility lifecycle (electric, gas, water, sewer); handle applications, track progress, and ensure timely activation in alignment with construction schedules.
  • Permit & Documentation Management: Organize and display all permit documents in internal systems and at job sites in strict accordance with county regulations.
  • Scheduling & Reporting: Update project schedules weekly and maintain tracking logs for contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and material deliveries.
  • On-Site Support: Prepare sites for Framing and Architectural walkthroughs; attend meetings and provide administrative and quality-control support.
  • Financial Coordination: Prepare subcontract agreements and purchase orders; review, code, and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices for PM approval.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify project gaps and look for opportunities to improve documentation and team coordination.
  • Quality & Scope Review: Conduct detailed reviews of subcontractor work and change orders; evaluate completeness and review findings with the Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in New Home Construction (Required).
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Technical Literacy: Knowledge of construction project management principles, safety standards, and the ability to interpret project specifications.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a general aptitude for construction management platforms.
  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior time management and the analytical skills necessary to prioritize multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.

Location
