I don’t see many reviews for Classic Cottages focused on their home purchases/acquisitions, so I thought I’d write one. In short, we approached Classic Cottages to sell our home in Alexandria, VA since we were relocating locally (bigger house). Charles was our primary POC (Acquisitions Manager) and was great to work with—totally transparent, responsive, and made sure everything stayed on track for the deal to close. The title company we worked with was also great; no issues throughout the closing process and we closed on time. If you live in their service area and are considering selling your house (especially if it’s a small/knock-down/rebuild situation), all I can say is Classic Cottages is a stand-up company and was great to work with! Just to be clear, that is NOT the case with all the builders/wholesalers in the area—really have to be careful about selecting a company for a direct sale.

My wife and I found Classic by driving through Arlington and looking for homes that we admired. But when it came time to select a builder for our lot, what sold us on Classic was the great attentiveness from Pierce and his team, and the feeling that they were going to go above and beyond to satisfy us. It’s a long time to work with a builder to get a new home up, and to work through any problems (at every point along the way) and get them resolved. We felt comfortable with Classic right away, and they never did anything to change our minds about the decision. One thing we appreciated was that they had their own in-house architect, who worked with us through several iterations of the design to come up with something striking and perfectly suited to our needs. Their designer, too, was a great help in guiding us through all the decisions we had to make. The house came in on schedule, as promised, and without going over budget.The house itself is phenomenal. The quality of the construction and the design shines through everywhere, and we couldn’t be happier. And after moving in, we found the process of working through the (small) punch-list items to be painless, because of the great work by Classic’s team. We highly recommend them.

We’re 90 days in and we’re (1) 95% thrilled with the home, (2) 110% very happy with the post-purchasing process and warranty team. For #1, that’s been things that the city has imposed on the builder and a few design choices that could be improved on. But that’s minimal—really, Classic Cottages have been incredible to work with from purchase to now. Definitely a large part of that impression comes from the warranty manager, Glenn, so big kudos to him for leaving a fantastic impression. But I’ve spoken with everyone, from affiliated trades to the COO, and folks are just down-to-earth, good people doing good work.

The details in the home from the flooring, to the bathrooms, to the lighting, to appliances, were all so incredible. Having a brand new custom home was amazing, but also the ease with the walk-through and inspection, and having the included home warranty was just such a peace of mind as well. Our sales agent was Gina Baca, and she was so incredibly helpful every step of the way, and always accessible and responsive so quickly to all our questions and needs.
